🏊‍♂️ SWIM:ED FEATURED IN THE IPAPER! 🏊‍♀️ School swimming is facing a growing challenge. With public pool closures, rising costs of transport and limited availability, more schools are struggling to provide children with their statutory swimming lessons. And with around 30% of children leaving primary school unable to swim 25 metres, improving access to swimming has never been more important. 🌊 That’s why we’re so proud to see Swim:Ed featured by the iPaper as a practical solution to the school swimming crisis. Opportunities to try something new. Opportunities to challenge themselves. Opportunities to make friends. Opportunities to build confidence. ⚽ FREE LUNCHTIME SUPPORT! 🙌 We’re excited to be offering completely FREE lunchtime sports support to local schools, giving children more opportunities to be active, have fun and develop new skills during their lunch break! 🌟 We have two exciting options available for schools: ⭐ PLAY LEADERS PROGRAMME ⭐ Our Play Leaders Programme gives KS2 pupils the opportunity to learn a variety of fun, inclusive games and activities that they can then confidently lead with KS1 pupils during break and lunchtime. Through Play Leaders, children can develop valuable skills including: 💪 Confidence and independence 🤝 Teamwork and communication 🏆 Leadership and responsibility 🎯 Organisation and decision-making It’s a fantastic way to give older pupils responsibility while providing younger children with more opportunities, taking pressure away from your lunch time staff!🙌 ⚽ EXTRA-CURRICULAR LUNCH CLUBS ⚽ We can also provide sports and activity clubs during lunchtime, giving pupils the chance to try different sports, stay active and enjoy structured activities with their friends. 🏊‍♂️ See Swim:ED in action 💦 We’re inviting Headteachers, Assistant Heads and PE Leads from schools across our Swim:ED contract areas to come and view a live school swimming setup in action. This is not just an opportunity to look at a pool. It is a chance to see how Swim:ED operates within a real school environment, including the pool setup, lesson delivery, pupil movement, safety procedures, staffing, changing arrangements and the wider day-to-day organisation around school swimming provision. The showcase is aimed at schools in: 📍 Tamworth 📍 Nuneaton 📍 North Warwickshire & Bedworth 📍 South Derbyshire During the visit, you will be able to: ✅ View a live swimming lesson ✅ Tour the pool setup ✅ See how the provision works around the school day ✅ Ask questions about delivery, logistics and suitability for your own setting ✅ Understand how Swim:ED could support your school’s swimming and water safety provision Swimming and water safety are a statutory part of the primary PE curriculum in England. 📢 There is a lot of confusion around what is happening with PE and Sport Premium funding, so we have simplified the key dates schools need to know. 📚 Summer term 2026 The PE and Sport Premium is still live for the 2025/26 academic year. Schools still have until the end of term to use this year’s allocation. 🔚 July 2026 The current PE and Sport Premium ends. This is the final point of the existing system. 🍂 September 2026 The 2026/27 transition year begins. Primary schools receive a one-off transitional payment, equivalent to one term’s funding, while the new system is developed. 📋 Autumn term 2026 School-by-school allocations and grant conditions for the transitional payment are expected to be published. ❄️ January 2027 The new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network goes live, backed by £580m, replacing the old Premium. 🏊 Spring term 2027 onwards Targeted support, including top-up swimming lessons, becomes available through a national delivery partner and governing bodies, rather than as a direct school grant. ✅ The key window for schools is now through to January 2027. 📢 There is a lot of confusion around what is happening with PE and Sport Premium funding, so we have simplified the key dates schools need to know. 📚 Summer term 2026 The PE and Sport Premium is still live for the 2025/26 academic year. Schools still have until the end of term to use this year’s allocation. 🔚 July 2026 The current PE and Sport Premium ends. This is the final point of the existing system. 🍂 September 2026 The 2026/27 transition year begins. Primary schools receive a one-off transitional payment, equivalent to one term’s funding, while the new system is developed. 📋 Autumn term 2026 School-by-school allocations and grant conditions for the transitional payment are expected to be published. ❄️ January 2027 The new PE and School Sport Partnerships Network goes live, backed by £580m, replacing the old Premium. 🏊 Spring term 2027 onwards Targeted support, including top-up swimming lessons, becomes available through a national delivery partner and governing bodies, rather than as a direct school grant. ✅ The key window for schools is now through to January 2027. Our Nerf Wars club has been a brilliant example of how structured play can keep children moving, thinking, communicating and working together, all while having loads of fun. 🔥 The last session nearly sold out, with 28 out of 30 spaces booked. 📅 There are 3 sessions remaining before May half term, with only 10 PAYG spaces available each week.
